Tinctures are highly concentrated liquid extracts. Benefits of having a tincture is its longevity and stability, according to herbalists it does not expire. A tincture does not require refrigeration. It is easily administered as it penetrates the mucous membrane making it fast acting. Your tincture can be used in times of stress, anxiety, or emotional lows.*note it takes 6 weeks before maturing.
The salve may be used externally for skin issues, rashes, scrapes, cuts, or burns. I make the salve with coconut oil, sweet almond oil, beeswax, comfrey, calendula, lavender, and placenta powder. There are no preservatives placed in the salve, so it should be refrigerated or used within 2 weeks. The salve may also be made without placenta.
Placenta Encapsulating FAQ’s
Which process of encapsulation do you offer?
My company offers the traditional method of encapsulation, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine. The process includes steaming the placenta prior to dehydration in order to kill germs or bacteria. Additionally this method is designed to help balance the placenta after childbirth. Knowing that this is the method we use gives our clients peace of mind for safe consumption.
How and when do I contact you?
Please contact Kelly between the hours of 9am and 9pm within 12 hours of the birth of your baby and your placenta. She would like to encapsulate your placenta for you as quickly as possible. Contacting Kelly promptly will allow you and her to coordinate your schedules so that she can accommodate you at your earliest convenience.
What do you need from me?
As your Postpartum Placenta Specialist you can feel confident that Kelly’s equipment and supplies are sanitized and prepared for your encapsulation. She will bring everything she needs with her when she comes. All Kelly needs from you is the placenta, access to a stove, sink, and outlet to plug in the dehydrator. Everything else is Kelly’s responsibility.
What do I do with my placenta until you get here?
The placenta must be placed in a cooler on ice or in a refrigerator within 2-4 hours after birth, until Kelly can begin the process. If we are not able to begin the encapsulation process within 4 days of birth, you will place the placenta in the freezer and defrost it in the refrigerator prior to Kelly’s arrival.
When do you start the process?
Ideally, we like to begin the process within 2 days of your birth, so that your capsules will be ready for ingestion by day 3. If this is not possible or undesirable by you, freezing your placenta and then defrosting it prior to encapsulation is recommended. Your placenta can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Why do you process in my home?
As a ProDoula Postpartum Placenta Specialist, your safety and peace of mind and Kelly’s professionalism are top priorities. The guidelines that Kelly is required to hold herself accountable to far exceed the standards of this industry. It benefits you to have this process done in your home in the following ways.

- There is no risk of your placenta being exposed to any unfamiliar bacteria that may interfere with healthy postpartum recovery.
- As a Postpartum Placenta Specialist, Kelly can support you best when she is with you. She is trained to educate and support you during this period and wants you to reap the full benefits of her offerings.
Do we need to be home during the process?
This is completely up to you and your comfort level. Whatever you decide is how we will move forward. As a professional, it is Kelly’s desire to make the process as smooth and comfortable for you as possible.
How long does the process take?
The entire process will take approximately 24 hours. Kelly will be with you for 2 hours each day for 2 consecutive days.
